Alien Golf League

Van Steenberg Cross Country makes equipment for two sports it has no inherited claim on. That is the whole position: the objects are reconsidered by someone with no assumptions to defend, and the work is sold on the object rather than on a lineage.

The brand's story — that aliens found Earth, found sport, and could not be talked out of either — is a framing device for that outsider's eye, not a costume. It explains why a bag has four apertures and no cart strap. It is never the punchline.

Three buyers, in order of volume. None of them are being sold a fantasy; each is being sold a specific object that solves something the incumbents stopped questioning.

The crossover player is the centre of gravity. They already own too much gear, and they are quietly irritated that the two sports they play behave as though the other does not exist.

Legacy golf sells heritage and tour validation. Disc golf sells flight numbers and subculture fluency. VSCC has neither and should stop reaching for both — it competes on first-principles design and plain speech.

The practical test: if a claim would be stronger coming from a hundred-year-old brand, it is the wrong claim for this one.

Five objects, each doing a different commercial job. The disc is the trial, the pouch is the story, the daypack is the volume, the second colourway is the repeat, the stand bag proves the tooling.

Nothing in the line exists to fill a price gap. When a sixth object is added, it earns its place by answering a question the other five cannot.

Never pun on the premise — the story does not need help, and a joke that explains itself stops being one. Never claim heritage, tour validation, or a pro roster. Never let Mars Sand become a field colour. Never describe the equipment as premium, elevated, or crafted; state the spec and stop.
